  • Does it really matter what detergent you use? We don't have access to a washer/dryer and send our wash out. Have been washing db's stuff separately with Dreft at a friend's place, but it would be SO much easier to just toss all her things into the bigger bag. But they use harsh detergents at the laundromat. WWYD?

    • Does not matter. I've never used Dreft and have never had a problem. The bigger problem are dryer sheets. These add chemicals after your laundry has been rinsed clean. My whole family gets rashes if I use sheets so I use vinegar as fabric softener instead and dryer balls in the dryer.

    • How old is db? I stopped using Dreft just recently, at 1 year of age. However, ds is not allergic to anything (as far as we know) and does not have sensitive skin.

        • I'm a first time mom, but when DS was 6 weeks, I was very paranoid about the littlest things. With the laundry detergent being one of them. So, for my own peace of mind, I continued religiously with Dreft.

        • OMG totally not necessary - 6 weeks if fine. Have you used soap on baby yet? If you feel baby is supersensitive, maybe, but you'r epast the most sensitive stage

    • If you are sending it to a good place, you can put your own detergent in (maybe not deft, but something without dyes and perfumes). I used to do that because I couldn't stand the smell of the detergent they used.
