Last night had birthday dinner with 5 best friends. I am due Dec 24 w first DD so this was the lst birthday w the gals before her arrival. We discussed schools... and everyone at the table, all without children yet, already had their private school picked out! Is this usual amongst women in our city? Personally I have not thought about it yet. But see the feedback and posts here as well as the kids in private education in our City... while I am impressed with the breath of the children's knowledge it seems everyone is angry and a bit messed up. is there a brighter side??

I was in shock... The most interesting thing is that one of the schools mentioned is a very difficult in, but which I was on the design team for a few years back. The women wanting to get in there were already aware my connections were probably not enough (as I reemphasized) and have started making the right connections... again, noone at the table has kids yet.
[ Reply | Options ]Strange friends. They sound nutty and intense. Are any of them in relationships? Are their partners alpha males?
[ Reply | Options ]that's the thing... one is married & a socialite, one is in 7 year-no plans for kids or marriage (of course she didn't have a pick but knew all the schools!) long-term relationship, one is a model who's engaged to be married in the spring, one is mid-thirties and desperately looking for the perfect man to have a life and 4 children with. but, in all of this, they are all very relaxed and easy-going. any partners are equal partners.
