People suck! I am aggravated because my DH and I were not invited to our BIL's relative's wedding when the rest of DH's immediate family was! The reason (I suspect) is because I have not been the most social individual toward these people, I think they are fake, and can be kind of hostile and unfriendly to them when I see them at my BIL's house.

As for the "Stupid things", I would be standoffish, occasionally talk $hit to them (and about them) when I was drinking, and basically not ooh and aah over them the way everyone else does...

Are you close with them? There is probably a reason you are not social with them. If that is the case, I wouldn't want you at my wedding nor would I want to go to a wedding for a couple I didn't really get along with
[ Reply | Options ]OP: I personally am not close with them, however my DH definitely has more "history" with them (he met them and socialized with them in the 80's, where I didn't really get involved with them till like '96 or so). As I said, it's ME they don't like, and I am feeling bad that my DH (who they DO like) is being excluded.
[ Reply | Options ]I am not being snotty, but is it possible a) they don't like your dh as much as you think or b)it's not about you? Maybe there is some other reason- either way life is too short to worry about a wedding you may not have wanted to go to anyway.

[ Reply | Options ]OP: Not taking it as snotty at all, however this is a 300+ person affair and it was made public that the parents were paying for ALL OF IT, so it is not a budgetary reason. I hear what you are saying about life being too short, but I can't help feeling pissed off about the whole thing...
